Wolverine boys held scoreless by West Sioux
Two West Sioux pitchers tossed a combined one-hitter over the five innings as the Falcons shut out South O’Brien 15-0 June 7 at Paullina. Blake Van Ballegooyen hurled three innings that included a double to Pete Bottjen and a walk to Brock Riedemann. Levi Koopmans pitched the remaining two innings for the visitors.
Jett Keith threw two innings for the Wolverines and took the loss in the War Eagle Conference contest. He allowed 10 runs (three earned) on seven hits with six walks, two strikeouts and a hit batter. Micah Davis’ 2-1/3 innings on the bump resulted in five runs (three earned) on two hits. Davis walked five batters, struck out three and hit one. The other 2/3 of an inning went to Dain Moermond. He faced five batters, walking two and striking out one. There were three errors in the game for South O’Brien.
