Johnston, IA (May 1, 2025) – Cancer Survivor Month is observed every June to celebrate survivors, honor caregivers, and raise awareness about the challenges surrounding cancer survivorship. According to the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), more than 18 million people in the United States are cancer survivors who are living with, through, and beyond their disease.
A single hospital patient can require a large amount of blood in a single situation. Cancer patients can use up to eight platelet units per week.
