Blackhawk golfers take two from South O’Brien
The South O’Brien golf teams faced a pair of tough Hinton teams on their home course for a War Eagle Conference matchup. At the Deer Run Golf Course the Blackhawk girls won 187-206 and their boys were victorious over the Wolverines 159-191.
“I am proud of their effort tonight on a tough course against some stiff competition!” said South O’Brien coach Kris Faust. “With two more meets this week, we need to regroup on Wednesday at practice so we can finish strong before the War Eagle Conference and post-season tournaments next week.”
Cassidy Horstmann shot a round of 44 to take runner-up honors. Lindsey Einck carded a 52 to finish seventh. Alli Griebel and Anna Griebel each shot 55. Addi Triplett came in with a 60 and Addi Odenbrett a 65.
Team Scores: Hinton 187, South O’Brien 206.
Medalist: Ashlyn Kramer (Hinton) 40, Runner-up: Cassidy Horstmann (SO’) 44, 3rd: Addison Kovarna (Hinton) 48, 4th: Madyson Hoppe (Hinton) 49.
Other SO’ scores: Lindsey Einck 52, Alli Griebel 55, Anna Griebel 55, Addi Triplett 60, Addi Odenbrett 65.
The Hinton boys swept the medals. Alex Griebel fired the low round for the Wolverines, a 44, to place sixth. Jace Kleinwolterink and Ryan Fuller each carded a 46. Reese Lundquist shot 55, Nathan Harms 56 and Hunter Lange 61.
Team Scores: Hinton 159, South O’Brien 191.
