The South O’Brien girls track and field team earned a runner-up finish in Class C at the Lady Orab Invitational held April 21 at Sheldon. The Wolverines’ 103 points left them just four behind Class C winner Gehlen Catholic.
South O’Brien captured four events at the Invite. Tori Schueller won both the high jump and the 100 meter hurdles. Camryn Strubbe took the 100 meters. Winning the 4×800 relay was the team of Reese Farquhar, Taylor Wulf, Grace Keen and Avery Halverson.
Strubbe placed second in both the long jump and the 200 meters. Also finishing second was the shuttle hurdle relay with Abby Nelson, Chloe Hustedt, Maeci Stevens and Schueller. Placing third were Taylor Wulf in the discus, Anessa Johnson in the 3000 meters, Hustedt in the 400 meter hurdles and the distance medley relay quartet of Kelsee Warnke, Amelie Wilson, Halverson and Wulf.
