Obituary – Lynette Wilson

Lynette Wilson passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Good Samaritan Society in Le Mars, Iowa.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Christ Lutheran Church LCMS in Remsen, with Pastor Matt Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the Remsen Community Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30-10:15 a.m. at the church. Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen. www.fischfh.com
Lynette Louise Schmid was born on October 23, 1935, to Fred and Irene (Trometer) Schmid at Liberty Township, IA. She was baptized on April 5,1936 and confirmed May 14,1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Marcus, Iowa. Lynette was raised in rural Kingsley, IA and received her high school diploma from Union Township Consolidated School graduating on May 20, 1954. 
Lynette married Roger Wilson on June 13, 1954, in Rolla, Missouri. The couple lived several places before settling in Paulina, Iowa where they raised their children. Lynette had a meaningful career at the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Department, retiring in 1997. In 2013 she and Roger moved to Remsen to be closer to family.
Lynette was known for being a fun and loving grandmother. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Lynette enjoyed crafting, camping, bird watching, and dancing. She and Roger spent several fun filled years in Rockport, TX as snowbirds where they met many friends and enjoyed the Texas Gulf Coast.
She is survived by her children Sherrie Wilson of Longmont, CO, Mark Wilson of Fairview, TX, and Jeff (Sheila) Wilson of Omaha, NE;10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; a brother Gary Schmid of Remsen, IA, a sister Donna (Lanny) Narin of Marlton, NJ; sisters-in-law Mary Schmid of Huron Lake, MN, and Shirley Weiters of Saint Hedwig, TX, and many nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Roger; parents, Fred and Irene Schmid; in laws Roland and Eva Wilson; brothers David and Lynn Schmid; sisters-in-law Sandy Schmid and Rita Jannasch; brothers-in-law Wally Wieters and Aaron Jannasch, and daughter-in-law Stella Wilson.
