Wolverines struggle to score against Emmetsburg girls
South O’Brien found it difficult to put the ball in the basket in its non-conference match-up with Emmetsburg. The Wolverines were just 6-of-40 (15 percent) from the field, missing all 17 of their three point attempts in losing 52-20 January 25 at Emmetsburg. The game was rescheduled from December 21.
The E-Hawks shot 44 percent (20-of-45) and made a third of their 12 three-point tries. From the free throw line Emmetsburg was 8-of-13 and the Wolverines 8-of-12. South O’Brien committed 30 turnovers with the E-Hawks making 23 steals.
Chloe Hustedt scored six points, Abby Nelson and BreLee Rasmussen four apiece and Lindsey Einck and Reese Farquhar three each. Einck and Hustedt each had an assist. Rachel Schany led Emmetsburg with 23 points.
Farquhar came down with 12 rebounds and she and Einck each blocked a shot. Nelson and Cassidy Horstmann had three steals apiece. The E-Hawks turned the ball over 19 times.
