Battle for a Match Win Fell Short

Thursday at Akron-Westfield High School for a volleyball match proved to be an exciting night, although disappointing for the Wolverines. The match was back and forth set wins for both teams with the host Westerners finally taking the opening set with extra points, 26-28. South O’Brien battled back for 2 straight set wins, both 25-15. Set 4 went back to the Westerners, 16-25 and a final set 5 going to the host, 15-11.

South O’Brien leaders were Greta Hustedt with 30 per 6.0 assists and 17 digs per 3.4. Raegan Plagge hit 3.8 kills and .8 ace serves from 4.4 attempts. Taylor Wulf got high and in front of the ball at the net to earn 7 blocks.
