Former Paullina Council member Steve Heeren takes the oath of office Monday during the regular council meeting as the new Deputy Clerk. Heeren began his duties in early July.
The Paullina Council also made an appointment to fill his seat for the remainder of his term ending December 31, 2025. John Funkhouser was appointed on a 3-1 vote.
Two council seats and the mayor’s seat expire on December 31. Interested persons can file nomination papers for any of those seats beginning August 25 and no later than 5:00pm September 18, 2025. The election is Tuesday November 4, 2025.
