FFA Annual Officer Training South O’Brien Contingent

FFA Chapter leaders from across northwest Iowa gathered at Dordt University to participate in the annual Chapter Officer Leadership Training (COLT) Conference, an event focused on building leadership skills and strengthening local chapters.
The conference featured four interactive workshops led by Iowa FFA State and District Officers. These sessions were designed to help chapter leaders—many of whom serve as local officers—develop and refine their leadership roles. Workshop topics included advocating for the agriculture industry, connecting with local stakeholders, recruiting new members, and building effective officer teams.
In addition to the workshops, students also received specialized training based on their individual officer positions, helping them better understand their responsibilities and how to contribute to their chapter’s success.
Iowa FFA President Chloe Zittergruen shared the importance of the event: “COLT Conference provides a chance for FFA members to learn more about their responsibility as a local leader and is a conference for members to meet and connect with state, district, and other chapter officers.”
The COLT Conference continues to serve as a valuable experience for young leaders as they prepare for the year ahead in agricultural education and leadership.
