The FFA Sub-District Soils contest was held at Northwest Iowa Community College where 22 teams and 80 individuals competed.
Gabe Moermond said, “The contest was a great refresher and it was fun to get back into the pits.”
South O’Brien teams placed 2nd (Gabe Moermond, Will Stout, Austin Negus, Noah Wittrock), 8th (Brooks Billick, Karson Wetrich, Drew Wittrock), and 9th (Hunter Lange, Jaelyn Wallin, Ryleigh Fuller) overall, with Moermond taking Champion Individual honors, Stout 5th, and Negus 6th.
“Our team has a goal to qualify for the national contest, so it was a good way to get us started for the year” mentioned Austin Negus.
