Errors plague South O’Brien in loss to Rebels

Sioux Central banged out 15 hits, including a home run, but also took adavantage of a few holes in the Wolverine defense to win 15-5 in six innings July 1 at Paullina. South O’Brien was guilty of five errors in the game.
“I thought Tawni Wulf pitched a nice game,” remarked Wolverine head coach Heather Struve. “We just did not play very good defense behind her, which led to a bunch of unearned runs. Abby Woodall and Reese Farquhar hit the ball well with two hits apiece. We did not get our hitting going until the fourth inning.”
Woodall hit a double and drove in three runs. Farquhar and Ashlynn Gunnerson each had one RBI. Abby Nelson scored two runs.
Wulf allowed no walks and also did not record a strikeout. She did hit a batter. Only five of the Rebels’ runs were earned.
