Brinkman Gravel & Excavating Acquires Visser Gravel & Excavating
Sanborn, Iowa, July 1, 2025 – Zach Brinkman is the new owner of a long standing business in the community of Sanborn – Visser Gravel & Excavating. Zach has modified the business name to Brinkman Gravel & Excavating and is looking forward to providing the same excellent service and results that the previous owner, Mike Visser, has delivered to his customers for many years. Sanborn Electric and Telecommunications Utility and O’Brien County Economic Development Corporation (OCEDC) are pleased to be partners in this project through a Sanborn USDA REDLG Loan and an O’Brien County Revolving Fund Loan respectively.
Both Sanborn Electric and Telecommunications Utility and O’Brien County Economic Development, in \conjunction with their Revolving Loan Fund Committees, have approved financing for this business acquisition.
These Revolving Loan Funds are used to attract, retain or expand Business and Industry. Revolving loan funds may be used for the following: Land purchases, Building purchases, Building Construction, Machinery purchases, Equipment purchases and any other uses deemed appropriate by the overseeing RLF Committee.
O’Brien County Economic Development Executive Director, Kiana Johnson, said, “Business succession has become a focus of OCEDC as more local business owners approach retirement age. We are especially excited to see the implementation of this business succession, with a young, local entrepreneur taking over an
established business. Both the Sanborn and the O’Brien County RLF Committees anticipate a bright and successful future for Zach Brinkman and Brinkman Gravel & Excavating.”
