St. Mary’s holds SOS to one hit in five-inning win

Remsen St. Mary’s limited South O’Brien to one hit in a 15-0 blanking of the Wolverines in five innings June 18 at Paullina. The Hawks got four runs in the first inning and then tacked on eight more in the second.
Gabe Moermond doubled for the lone South O’Brien hit. He was the only Wolverine baserunner.
Starting pitcher Brady Riedemann went 1-1/3 innings. He allowed eight runs on six hits. Six of the runs were earned. Riedemann walked five batters and hit one. Will Stout took the mound in relief and pitched the final 3-2/3 innings. He yielded seven runs on six hits with six of those runs being earned. Stout struck out six batters, walked four and hit one. There was one Wolverine error.
