Zub’s Shop Continues Expansion In Sutherland

by Mari Radtke
It started as a 1 or 2 stall garage in downtown Sutherland. Joyce and Kevin relocated around the corner to the former Coop station adding gasoline and a more working bays. On-farm service was added. They purchased the card-trol in Larrabee. Just a few short years ago a modern, touchless car wash with a larger hand bay was added on 5 acres on Highway 10 and Van Buren, the southeast corner. Following came another state of the art card-trol gas station with restroom and vending facilities.
They are at it again. South of the Sutherland card-trol they are building a 120’ x 120’ garage with 20’ sidewalls. The newest location will feature 5 doors on the south side and 1 drive-through on the north. The south door will be 18’ and allowing for semis to pull straight through.

Some details are still being finalized, but they expect to have at least 4 hoists. Three offices and a larger break room are added amenities and part of the facility plan. The existing downtown location will serve as supply storage.
All existing services will stay in place. This new facility is designed for improved work flow to better serve customers.
Kevin said, “We don’t have a date yet.” Depending on weather and work schedules completion is not yet determined, particularly with some decisions left to be made. A second generation is part of the team with Jon. A great auto service company continues growing in Sutherland.
