The South O’Brien boys track and field team finished fourth at the Russ Kraai Relays held April 15 at Holstein. The Wolverines’ 69 points left them trailing host Ridge View (141 points), MMCRU (120) and Cherokee (85).
South O’Brien took two of the sprints at Derek Paulsen won the 100 meters and Brody Van Beek the 200. Brennan Billick captured the 110 meter hurdles event and joined Paulsen, Van Beek and Brooks Billick on the winning shuttle hurdle relay team.
Damian Villarreal and Caden Wittrock teamed with Van Beek and Paulsen claim second place in the 4×200 relay. Finishing fourth were the 4×100 of Villarreal, Caden Wittrock, Van Beek and Paulsen, the 4×800 of Trayton Cobb, Corbin Warnke, Karson Wetrich and Nathaniel Ball, the sprint medley of John Puhrmann, Tyler Hintz, Kaden Tjossem and Roman Harms and the distance medley of Tjossem, Jaden Kreber, Warnke and Cobb.
