Five first-place finishes helped the Wolverines track and field boys come in second at their own South O’Brien Mid-Season Meet held April 17 at Paullina. South O’Brien scored 157 points while MMCRU won the meet with a 192 total.
Wolverine individuals winning their events were Brennan Billick in both the 110 and 400 hurdle events and Derek Paulsen in the 100 meters. Paulsen also anchored the 4×100 and 4×200 relays to victory. Joining him on the 4×100 were Damian Villarreal, Caden Wittrock and Brody Van Beek. In the 4×200 Meter Relay it was Brett Evans teaming with Wittrock, Van Beek and Paulsen.
Coming in second were Trayton Cobb in the 1600, Landen Davenport in the 3200 and Van Beek in the 200. Also earning a runner-up finish was the distance medley relay of Kaden Tjossem, Jaden Kreber, Corbin Warnke and Cobb.
Placing third were Evans in the high jump, Warnke in the long jump and Noah Wittrock in the 800. Relays finishing third were the 4×800 of Noah Wittrock, Ethan Schwarz, Drew Wittrock, and Karson Wetrich and the sprint medley with Villarreal, Caden Wittrock, Gabe Moermond and Cobb.
