The South O’Brien boys track and field team scored 137 points to place third at the Sioux Central Early Bird Coed Invite held April 8 at Sioux Rapids. The Rebels were unable to claim the title in their own meet as their 147 total left them short of the 154 points scored by winner Alta-Aurelia.
Gabe Moermond captured the 400 meter dash for the Wolverines and Roman Harms was third. Caden Wittrock placed second and Damian Villarreal third in both the 100 and 200 meters. Nathaniel Ball was runner-up in the 400 meter hurdles. Third place went to Jaden Kreber in the high jump, Corbin Warnke in the long jump and Landen Davenport in the 3200.
Relays finishing third were the 4×100 of Villarreal, Caden Wittrock, Moermond and Kreber, the 4×800 of Warnke, Noah Wittrock, Drew Wittrock and Ethan Schwarz and the sprint medley of Villarreal, Caden Wittrock, Moermond and Trayton Cobb.
