Harris-Lake Park slips past Wolverine girls
South O’Brien rallied from a poor start to take the lead over Harris-Lake Park in second quarter but lost to the Wolves in the end 38-36. This match-up which occurred February 4 at Paullina did not count in the War Eagle Conference standings.
The Wolverines shot 20 percent from the field (10-of-51) and committed 21 turnovers compared to 15 for Harris-Lake-Park. The Wolves were 14-of-52 from the floor for 27 percent, including 4-of-22 from beyond the arc. South O’Brien made seven of its 22 trey attempts and nine of 17 free throw tosses. Harris-Lake Park was 6-of-10 from the charity stripe.
The Wolverines got nine points from Addison Hedberg, eight from Lindsey Einck, six from Cassidy Horstmann, five from Reese Farquhar, three from both BreLee Rasmussen and Abby Woodall and two from Chloe Hustedt. Woodall was the assists leader with three.
South O’Brien managed to outrebound the Wolves 37-34, thanks in large part to the 10 caroms collected by Einck. Hustedt added eight rebounds and Farquhar six. Abby Nelson made four steals while Farquhar swiped the ball three times.
