Sheldon/South O’Brien wrestler is crowned Siouxland Conference champion

Brayden Stines is a conference champion. The Sheldon/South O’Brien wrestler finished first in the 106-pound weight class at the Siouxland Conference Tournament held January 30 at Sioux Center.
Stines, a freshman at South O’Brien, received a bye into the semifinal round. There he won by fall over Sioux Center’s Jacob Boogerd in 36 seconds. It took a little longer for Stines to capture the 1st Place Match. The bout went the distance with Stines scoring a 17-3 major decision victory over Blake Knudtson of Okoboji/HMS.
A trio of Orab wrestlers in the upper weights finished third. They were Ayden Miller at 190 pounds, Landon Sietstra at 215 and Jack Leng at 285.
Placing fourth was Roman Harms, another South O’Brien freshman, wrestling at 126 pounds. Kolt Roos finished fifth at 175 pounds and Jayden Hegenbarth was sixth at 120.
