Sheldon/South O’Brien wresting girls are in action twice

The Sheldon/South O’Brien girls wrestling team participated in two events last week
On January 14 the Orabs competed at the Siouxland Conference Girls Wrestling Tournament at Rock Rapids. Host Central Lyon/George-Little Rock was crowned conference champions after winning the meet with a 235.5 total. Sheldon/South O’Brien finished eighth with 71 points.
On January 16 the Orabs wrestled in a quadrangular hosted by Okoboji/HMS at Milford. Sheldon/South O’Brien lost to the Pioneers 42-36 and to Spirit Lake 36-34. The Orabs did come away with a 54-18 victory over Sibley-Ocheyedan.
South O’Brien’s Meredith Hunt wrestled at 110 pounds in all three duals at Milford. Her lone win came against Sibley-Ocheyedan as she pinned Natalie Ironshell-Renken in 1:08. Hunt lost by fall to Kenadie Neavin of Okoboji/HMS in 1:01 and was pinned by Spirit Lake’s Audrina Bennett in 51 seconds.
