South O’Brien FFA members have been busy this summer competing in livestock evaluation contests at various county fairs.
At the O’Brien County Fair, the chapter had the Champion (Drew Wittrock-Champion Ind., Kate Dau-3rd, Will Stout-4th, Hunter Lange-10th), Reserve Champion (Alex Griebel-5th, Austin Negus-8th, Logan Dau, Gabe Moermond), 4th (Noah Wittrock-7th, Caden Wittrock, James Beck), 6th (Elliott Rausch, Brennan Negus, Jasper Johnson), and 11th (Eliot Boardman, John Puhrmann, Claire Wagner) Place Teams.

The following day, a team traveled to the Sac County Fair where the Junior Division Team of Karson Dau, Kate Dau, Sarah Puhrmann, and Karlee Sturges placed 4th. John Puhrmann was the lone member who competed in the Senior Division.
“The members have continued to learn and improve at each of the contests we have competed in”, stated South O’Brien FFA Advisor Eric Kumm. “We have a few more to finish up the judging season, so it will be fun to see how they do.”
