Local Generosity Keeps the Wheels Moving

A fraction of the Bill and Marcella Wagner family joined them in presenting a very generous gift to the Kids Kampus fundraising effort. An on-going effort to fund a significant expansion to the Primghar daycare center has revealed the generosity of local leaders and supporters in both small and large ways.
The board of Kids Kampus developed plans to nearly double the capacity at Kids Kampus, a tell-tale sign of increased demand for services. The growth shows Primghar is home to young families or jobs to those needing daycare services are available in Primghar.
The original public goal of the fundraising effort was $250,000 for basic construction needs. The board was looking more realistically at a range from $250,000 to $300,000 to assure the potential of increased costs, and support related expenses such as furniture, toys and outdoor activity needs.
Bill and Marcella raised six children, and have 21 grand children and 29 great grandchildren. Of the generous donation Bill said, “A lot of [our family] use daycare and we get to see the benefit of it.” He went on to note a comment made by Mr. Metcalf years ago. “If you don’t use it here it goes to the grave with you.” Bill and Marcella donated $30,000 to the Kids Kampus effort.
