Obituary – Debra Kay Maurer

Debra Kay Maurer

Debra Kay Maurer, daughter of Charles and Margo (Meyerdirk) Carrier was born April 5, 1966 in Council Bluffs, IA.
She spent her early childhood years in Humboldt, IA. Her family then moved to Spencer, IA in 1978 where she graduated from Spencer High School in 1985. Deb continued her education at Ellsworth Community College and Iowa Lakes Community College. From there she worked as a CAN for Longhouse for 4 years as well as Spencer hospital for 4 years. As time moved on, she became an office manager for a chiropractor office and continued to work there for 30 years.
She met the love of her life, Bradley and they united in marriage on August 8, 1987 in the Methodist Church in Spencer, IA. To this union 3 children were born; Benjamin Maurer, Spencer, IA; Allison Maurer, Omaha, NE; and Elizbeth Maurer, Sutherland, IA. Debra loved attending and cheering on her children at all their events.
Debra passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the age of 58 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Margo Carrier; in-laws, Ken and Alice Maurer; sister-in-law, Nancy Maurer; niece Elaina Maurer.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Bradley Maurer, their 3 children, Benjamin, Allison, and Elizabeth Maurer; her sister Melissa Hasty (Rich), their 2 children, Charles and Richard Hasty; brothers-in-law, Ron Maurer, Greg Maurer (Deana), Gail Maurer (Sherry); one sister-in-law, Cindy Lundquist (Doug); as well as many extended family and friends.
