Wolverine girls lose makeup game to Harris-Lake Park
South O’Brien struggled to find the basket January 20 at Lake Park and lost to Harris-Lake Park 49-30. The Wolverines shot just 21 percent (11-of-52) in the game that was postponed from January 9 due to the weather.
The visitors hit only four of their 21 three-point attempts and were 4-of-9 at the free throw line. They also were guilty of 27 turnovers. The Wolves connected on 19 of their 55 field goal tries to shoot 35 percent. From beyond the arc they were 3-of-14 and from the foul line 8-of-12.
Scoring for South O’Brien showed Addison Hedberg with nine points, Chloe Hustedt with six, Abby Nelson with five, Reese Farquhar with four and Marissa Ebel, Abby Woodall and Jaylah Jackson with two points apiece. Hustedt and Woodall each had two assists.
The team’s leading rebounder was Lindsey Einck with 11. Ebel grabbed eight rebounds and made three steals. Hedberg also came away with three steals as Harris-Lake Park committed 16 turnovers.
