Sheldon/South O’Brien played host to the Orab Duals Tournament January 6 at Sheldon. In their first action following the Christmas break, the Orabs lost to Logan-Magnolia 48-36, defeated Storm Lake 41-36, fell 54-27 to Minnesota’s Tracy-Milroy-Balaton\Westbrook-Walnut Grove and then finished with a 39-29 victory over Sioux Central. The Orabs were open in three of the 14 weight classes during the day.
The dual with Logan-Magnolia saw all the Sheldon/South O’Brien victories come in the five heaviest weights. Winning by fall were Devin Van Regenmorter at 157 pounds, Mitchel Fischer at 165, Kolt Roos at 175, Jarrett Roos at 190 and Jack Leng at 285. Landon Sietstra received a win by forfeit at 215.
In the victory over the Tornados, Van Regenmorter, Fischer, Leng and Kolt and Jarrett Roos again recorded pins. Cole Cox, wrestling at 138 pounds, also won by fall. Winning major decisions were Sietstra along with Josh Hoffmann at 120 pounds. Against the Panthers from north of the border, Leng, Hoffmann, Kolt Roos and Jarrett Roos each notched a pin. Fischer won by decision.
In the finale with the Rebels pins were recorded by Leng, Hoffmann, Fischer and Kolt and Jarrett Roos. Sietstra captured a 5-0 decision over Cristian Witt. Alexis Ocampo won by forfeit at 106.
