South O’Brien completed a 3-0 week by blowing out Sheldon 65-27 December 16 at Paullina. The non-conference win raised the Wolverines’ overall record to 7-0.
The Orabs shot 29 percent (11-of-38) and were guilty of 25 turnovers. South O’Brien was 23-of-55 from the floor for 42 percent with eight threes in 18 tries. From the charity stripe the Wolverines were 11-of-15 and Sheldon was 3-of-8. South O’Brien was guilty of 10 turnovers.
The balanced Wolverine attack featured 16 points from David Bottjen, 14 from Willie Conley, nine each from Derek Paulsen and Ben Woodall, seven from Jaden Kreber, six from Justice Frerk and four from Aaron Funkhouser. Conley and Paulsen each assisted on four baskets.
South O’Brien came away with 21 steals, including six by Paulsen and five by Bottjen. Woodall was the rebound leader with four.
