Wolverine duo earn All-Conference honors at WEC meet

Ben Woodall ran to a fifth-place finish at the War Eagle Conference Meet to snag a spot on the all-conference team.

A pair of South O’Brien athletes have run their way to all-conference recognition. Ben Woodall and Elodie Wilson were among the top 15 finishers in their respective races October 10 as Paullina Golf Club on Mill Creek hosted the War Eagle Conference Cross Country Meet.
Woodall took fifth place in the boys run after Wilson had placed 11th in the girls competition. Both are seniors.
Following Woodall across the finish line were juniors Brett Evans and Ethan Schwarz who placed 27th and 36th respectively, senior Ian Oliver who was 38th, and junior Caleb Buenger, who finished 43rd.
The South O’Brien boys placed sixth as a team with a score of 113. Winning the conference title was Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn with a 53 total.
Joining Wilson in the girls race was junior Hailei Wallinga who placed 28th. The girls team title went to Hinton with its score of 24.
