Wolverines among large group of runners at Okoboji Invite
South O’Brien joined runners from nearly 20 other schools at the Okoboji Cross Country Invitational August 31. Arnolds Park’s Emerald Hills Golf Club played host to the meet.
The Wolverines ran three varsity girls. Senior Elodie Wilson placed 54th. That left the two juniors and it was Hailei Wallinga finishing 69th and Kaylie McKinney 71st.
Senior Ben Woodall led the way for the boys with a 26th-place finish. Next it was freshman Trayton Cobb in 58th and junior Ethan Schwarz in 64th. Three juniors rounded out the South O’Brien contingent with Brett Evans placing 70th, Bensen Rohwer 72nd and Caleb Buenger 73rd.
With a 273 total the Wolverines placed last among the nine teams which scored.
