Friday Night Blast

A sudden and fierce storm developed over Paullina Friday evening August 11. The storm produced high winds and heavy rains and produced hail that fell mostly on the west side of Paullina.
No structure damage or injuries have been reported. Many tree limbs were downed throughout town, even blocking the 100 block of South Mickley Street for a short while.
Many of the limbs, even those that fell on playground equipment at the City Park were from diseased Ash trees.
Piles of hail stones still laid in the grass on the northwest corner of the high school parking lot and in the street gutter north of the school.
Mill Creek Park suffered minor branches down and one large limb on the beach. Campers were reported to have received damage canopies, but no other damage was reported.
The fast-moving storm headed east leaving only a single limb at Dog Creek down. Some minor crop damage has been reported.
