Margaret A. Grimberg – Paullina, Iowa

Margaret A. Grimberg, age 89, of Paullina, Iowa passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Orange City Area Health. Her funeral service was held at10:30 A.M. on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina with Rev. Donald Meyer ~ officiating.
Burial was at Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina.
Visitation with family present will be from 5 – 7 P.M. on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.
Margaret Ann Grimberg passed away after a brief bout with cancer on June 18, 2023, at the Orange City Area Health System with family members surrounding her, reaching the age of 89 years 10 months and 15 days. Margaret was born to Leo and Eva (Bell) Schuett on August 3, 1933, in Sheldon, Iowa. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hartley, Iowa. She received her elementary education in a country school in Lincoln Township and later graduated from Hartley High School in 1951.
On May 18, 1952, Margaret was united in marriage to Murl Grimberg. They lived in the Paullina area until Murl was discharged from the military in 1954. They began their farming career together in Marcus, Iowa, and then later moved to a farm in Paullina in 1958.
An active member in Zion Lutheran Church, Margaret taught Sunday School, joined the Lutheran Missionary League and Zion Ladies Aid, and served faithfully as she volunteered for many projects. One such project was being active in the Lutheran Braille Workshop, making Bibles for the blind. About 1978, she became a Lamplighter, bringing devotions, companionship, and joy to the nursing homes and shut ins.
Margaret had a love for life and a love for God’s creations. Family and friends were very precious and dear to her. She and Murl enjoyed 71 years of marriage. During their retirement, they enjoyed dances, community theatres, bus tours and Bible studies.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Murl Grimberg of Paullina, Iowa; and children Lorrie (Henry) Dohrman of Phoenix, Arizona; Bruce (Kathy) Grimberg of Phoenix, Arizona; Rhonda (Jim) Douglas of Johns Island, South Carolina; and Peggy (Bruce) Hamel of Sioux City, Iowa; Grandchildren include Kerrin (John) Forsyth, Chad Hazelwood, Jennifer (Joe) Mygatt, Leanne Dohrman, Julie (Greg) Griffin and Natalie Patten also six great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include Clayton Schuett, Shirley Gibbs and John (Becky) Schuett, and sisters-in-law Linda Schuett and Verla Hatting. Margaret also had a deep love for her many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Darwin and Merle Schuett, sisters-in-law Elsie and Billie Schuett, and brother-in-law Marvin Hatting.
