River Valley wins over South O’Brien
The Wolverines could not string any hits together in a 9-3 loss to River Valley. Jinger Nieuwenhuis had an RBI double to lead us. Hitting singles were Payton Farquhar, Maddie Johnson, Marissa Ebel, Reese Farquhar and Brooklyn Edwards. We were putting the ball in play, but not hitting it with any power.
Shay Hatting pitched 2-2/3 innings and took the loss. She gave up five hits and seven runs, walked three and struck out three. Edwards pitched 1-1/3 innings, giving up three hits and two runs. Tawni Wulf pitched the final inning and did not give up any hits or runs. The Wolverines killed themselves on defense with five costly errors.
