Edmund “Ed” A. Hedinger – Paullina, Iowa

Services for Edmund “Ed” A. Hedinger, age 75, of Paullina who passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023, at MercyOne in Primghar.  His celebration of life will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Primghar with Father Tim Hogan ~ Officiating.

Burial will be at Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina.
Visitation with family present will be from 5 – 7 P.M. on Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.
 Edmund A. Hedinger, the son of Frank and Ardella (Schipp) Hedinger was born on March 25, 1948, in Primghar, Iowa.  He attended and graduated from Sutherland High School in 1966.  He was married to Marirose Onken and lived in Gaza, to this union two daughters were born, Wendy and Jennifer.  The family moved to Paullina and later divorced.  Ed worked for Irwin Huizenfeld at the Paullina Locker and later Ed purchased the locker and ran it for many years before his retirement.  He was married to Patricia Elgersma on September 25, 1993, at the White House Inn in Paullina and spent many wonderful years together.  Ed passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023, at MercyOne in Primghar reaching the age of 75 years, 1 month and 10 days.
Ed was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Primghar.  He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, mowing, and feeding his birds and squirrels.  Ed is especially known for always having a positive attitude, a kind and caring heart, a joke to make you laugh and always helping anybody out in one way shape or form. Ed had the patience of a Saint and the demeanor of an Angel. 
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patricia Hedinger of Paullina; two daughters, Wendy (Michael Rosewell) Swanson and Jennifer (Dan) Enger; grandchildren, Jack, Shelby, Mitchell Enger, Matthew DeVos, Kylie Swanson, Jackie (Jordan) Wohlert, Josie and Jenna Cosby; one great grandson, Baylor; siblings, Frank Hedinger, Leroy (Lynn) Hedinger, Virginia Butcher, and Alice Smith; also, other relatives and friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents and stepdaughter, Sonni Cosby.
