Two members of South O’Brien FFA Chapter competed in the NW District Ag Mechanics contest

Two individuals from the South O’Brien FFA Chapter competed in the NW District Ag Mechanics contest.
The contest consisted of identifying tractor parts, wiring a two-way switch, calculating concrete volume, soil conservation, and stick welding.
At least three are needed for a team score, so the members were scored as individuals. John earned a Silver rating and Eliot a Bronze. This was the first time for either member to compete in this event.
Puhrmann commented, “I’m only in eighth grade, so I haven’t had all of the shop classes yet. But I would like to try and get a team together to compete at state sometime. I thought this would be a good way to see what the contest is all about.”
