Memorial services for Shirley E Jones 73 of Paullina who passed away at her home in Paullina on Saturday Feb 4, 2023.
Her services were at11 am Thursday Feb 9, 2023 at the Eldridge family Funeral Home in Paullina Pastor John Erickson will officiate.
Graveside service was at 2 pm Thursday at Northlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Spencer.
Visitation with the family present was from 10 to the time of the service at the funeral home.
Shirley E Jones was born on July 18, 1949 in Sioux Rapids, Iowa to Howard and Berniece (Nelson) Ginkens. Her childhood years were spent in Rembrandt graduating from Rembrandt Consolidated Schools in 1967 and then graduating from Spencer School of Business in 1968.
Shirley was in the photo processing industry prior to joining Olson Graphic Products as the Purchasing Manager for equipment and supplies in 1993. As the industry changed and companies were consolidated, she worked for Bell Industries, Primesource Inc., Enovation Graphic Systems and finally Fuji Film in similar roles. She retired in 2020 after 27 years of service. In 2021, Shirley moved from St. Paul, MN to Paullina, IA.
Shirley had many hobbies. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading, stained glass art, painting, traveling, taking her motorcycle all over MN, WI, and IA with her friends to visit quilt shops and stay at B&B’s, caring for her home and doing yard work. She always had a project or two she was working on. One of her all-time favorite trips was a motorcycle trip that Jeanette and Cathy took her on to New York for her 60th birthday. Shirley enjoyed being a part of many quilting groups, book clubs, and bible studies. She treasured the friendships she made in these groups.
On Saturday, February 4th, Shirley passed away in Paullina, IA at the age of 73. Left to cherish her memory is her brother, Harry (Nancy) Ginkens of Marion, IA; nieces and nephews: Brian Ginkens of Urbandale, IA, Scott Ginkens of Rosenberg, TX, Kari (Todd) Ritter of Marion, IA, Paula Ginkens, Russ Ginkens, Paul (Stephanie) Ginkens of Mt. Pleasant, IA, JaMae (Korey) Dau of Sutherland, IA, Aletha Bennett of Sac City, IA, Randie (Jason) Grotluschen of Sac City, IA; other relatives and friends and her beloved cat Tosha.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Marion Ginkens, sister, Arlene Panhorst, sister, Joyce Bennett, niece, Dena Arnold.
