A. Call to Order
President Gina Paulsen called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.
B. Roll Call and Declaration of Quorum
All members are present with the exception of Josh Rausch. Quorum established.

D. Welcome and Delegation
- Citizens who have a place on the agenda may address the board on an issue of their concern during the discussion of that issue. Citizens who do not have a place on the agenda may address the board on any issue of their concern during the open forum of the regular meeting.
- Open Forum: The board may allow up to five minutes for citizens to discuss school matters with the board. Personnel matters are not to be discussed by or considered by the board until adequately considered by the administration.
- The open meeting law requires the posting of the board agenda more than 24 hours prior to the scheduled meeting. Topics not included on the agenda may be added only if good cause exists requiring expeditious discussion and/or emergency action on such matters.

a. Financial Statements
Board Secretary/SBO Aaron Giese provided the board with some commentary on the school financials including property taxes, fund balances, and upcoming items to look for.

Board Secretary/SBO Aaron Giese highlighted some invoices and expenses for the month and answered questions posed by board members.

F. Reports - JH/HS Discover Program Update
Mrs. Kim Poeckes, secondary science instructor, provided the board with a brief overview of the DISCOVER program at the junior high and high school levels. This program took the place of the intervention period and is meant to enrich learning for all students in a variety of areas. - Reports by Administration
a. Directors
Mr. Riley presented information to the board from the directors in the school district including buildings, transportation, maintenance, nutrition, technology, and activities.
b. Elementary
Mr. Riley presented an update to the board from the elementary building including climate and culture, high performance and growth, and facilities.
c. Secondary
Secondary Principal Mrs. Phillips presented an update to the board on the secondary building including 21st-century skills, climate and culture, high performance and growth, and classroom visits.
d. Superintendent
Mr. Riley updated the board on a number of issues including winter weather, proposed changes to the academic calendar, and upcoming items to look for. - Recognition of Staff, Students and Patrons

H. New Business - Consider First Reading of Policy Number 210.5
A first reading of an update to policy number 210.5 was brought to the board. The policy addresses the posting of meeting agendas.

An agreement was presented to the board regarding the continued sharing of the wrestling program between the district and Sheldon Community Schools for the 2023-2025 school years.

Mr. Riley presented to the board modifications to the 2022-2023 academic calendar addressing makeup time due to numerous early outs, late starts, and no school days from the first semester.
