Big second quarter boosts Boyden-Hull past Wolverine girls
Boyden-Hull virtually sewed up its win over South O’Brien by outscoring the Wolverines 29-6 in the second quarter. South O’Brien’s 62-31 loss in the Saturday afternoon game January 21 dropped the Wolverines to 0-15 on the season.
South O’Brien got 10 points from Tatiana Conley, nine from Marissa Ebel, five fom Taja Conley, three from Alyssa Van Beek and two each from Reagan Draper and Reese Farquhar. Takara Conley had three assists and Taja Conley two.
The Wolverines shot just 23 percent with nine field goals in 39 attempts. They were 2-of-13 from three-point range and 11-of-15 from the free throw line.
The 30 South O’Brien rebounds included five each from Ebel, Van Beek and Tatiana Conley, four from both Takara Conley and Abby Nelson and three from Draper. The Wolverines rejected four Comet shots. The blocks came from Tatiana Conley, Ashlyn Gimer, Lindsey Einck and Samantha Wilbur.
Takara Conley came away with three steals and Taja Conley and Van Beek each made two. South O’Brien recorded 10 total steals and was guilty of 33 turnovers.
