H-LP girls take advantage of Wolverine points outage
A scoring drought that ran for much of the first quarter and extended into the second crippled South O’Brien’s chances of staying with Harris-Lake Park. The Wolves eventually beat South O’Brien 56-29 January 10 at Paullina. Harris-Lake Park outscored the Wolverines 22-0 during that early stretch.
South O’Brien shot just 18 percent for the game and committed 29 turnovers. The Wolverines were 9-of-51 from the field with four treys in 14 tries. H-LP connected on 25 of 58 shot attempts for 43 percent, going 6-for-16 from three-point range. From the foul line South O’Brien was 7-of-18 and the Wolves 0-of-5.
Taja Conley led the Wolverines in scoring with 11 points. Netting five points apiece were Takara Conley, Alyssa Van Beek and Tatiana Conley. Marissa Ebel added two points and Abby Nelson 1. Ebel, Van Beek and Tatiana Conley each recorded an assist.
South O’Brien made 14 steals with four coming from Ebel and three from both Taja Conley and Nelson. Samantha Wilbur blocked a shot. Harris-Lake Park turned the ball over 22 times. The 30 Wolverine rebounds included nine from Tatiana Conley, five from Ebel and four from Van Beek.
