A tiebreaker cost Sheldon/South O’Brien a winning day as the Orabs hosted a wrestling quadrangular January 7 at Sheldon. In the second round Sheldon/South O’Brien and Storm Lake wrestled to 42-42 tie but the tiebreaker gave the Tornadoes the 43-42 win. The Orabs defeated Sioux Central 54-18 in Round One. Tracy-Milroy-Balaton went 3-0 on the day after downing the host team 60-21.
Five Orabs scored pins in the win over the Rebels. They were: Coy De Boer at 152 pounds, Tyson Getting at 160, Jarrett Roos at 182, Zach Brinkman at 220 and Jack Leng at 285. Mitchel Fischer at 145 and Jordon Jenness at 170 each won by decision. Winning by forfeit were Josh Hoffman at 106, Eddie Millan at 132 and Kolt Roos at 195.
Also recording pins against Storm Lake were De Boer, Getting, Jarrett Roos and, wrestling at 195 pounds, Brinkman. Hoffman, Millan and Fischer each won by fall as well.
De Boer and Getting notched their third pins of the day in the loss to the Panthers. Roos was a winner by technical fall and Hoffman won a 14-1 major decision.
