Iowa State University Extension and Outreach offers Advanced Grant Writing Workshop Jan. 23 in Cherokee
CHEROKEE, Iowa – Representatives of nonprofits, local government, schools, and other organizations are encouraged to register for the Grant Writing 201 workshop presented by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach on Monday, Jan. 23 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Extension office located at 209 Centennial Drive in Cherokee.
Grant Writing 201 is designed for grant writers who want to upgrade and polish their skills, ideally individuals with prior grant writing experience who have participated in Grant Writing 101. Individuals with grant writing experience who have not previously participated in Grant Writing 101 are asked to email Lindsay Henderson at lindsayh@iastate.edu prior to registering to describe their prior grant writing experience and ensure the course is right for them.
Workshop topics will include documenting need, methodology, logic models, evaluation, and budgets, with participants encouraged to work on sections of their own grant application during the workshop as those sections are discussed. Participants are expected to bring a grant announcement, request for proposal, or information for the grant program of interest to the workshop. They should also bring a laptop or tablet device.

Grant Writing 201 will be presented by ISU Extension and Outreach Community Development Specialist Lindsay Henderson. Henderson has extensive experience writing and reviewing grant applications and working with various federal, state, local and private foundation grant programs.
