Early Voting Began October 19
Early voting in Iowa began Wednesday October 19, 2022. That is also the first day allowed by Iowa law for an absentee ballot to be mailed out to a requestor by any Commissioner of Elections. The last day to request that a ballot be mailed to a voter is Monday October 24, 2022.
Any ballot returned to the court house by mail MUST be physically at the court house no later than 8:00pm election night. Personal delivery of a properly completed and signed ballot has the same deadline.
For vote eligible citizens overseas during the election season or for citizens who are members of “Safe At Home” a mail-returned ballot MUST be postmarked prior to election day and must be received at the court house before the election canvass on Monday November 14, 2022.
Early voting is now available in person at the O’Brien County Court House. Identification is required. In order for any eligible voter to have a ballot mailed to them, the ballot must be requested. For further information contact the O’Brien County Auditor’s office at 957-3225.
