Paullina Ambulance Department Appreciates New Rig
The Paullina Ambulance recently took possession of the new (to them) vehicle. The EMTs serving the community have worked for several months to secure the vehicle.
The newly acquired ambulance features and motorized loading cot that is safer for patients and EMTs alike. A power cot carries a big price tag. This one went just over $32,000. Improved storage is also a favored feature of the crew. The identification of the rig as “Paullina Ambulance” is complete. It was decided to only change the community name.
The Paullina Ambulance was purchased from the Granville Ambulance Service. Granville had the rig for about 4 years. Granville purchased the rig from Moville who bought it brand new.
Each year O’Brien County budgets $7500 to each ambulance service for specific equipment purchases. Currently, the Paullina Ambulance has $54,000 available to it for this rig. No money has been withdrawn recently, according to county staff.
The Paullina City Council approved payment of $85,000 to Granville, the purchase price of the rig, at its July 5 meeting. It is unclear which city funds the money was drawn from. Early plans were to sell Paullina’s old ambulance, but the Fire Department is taking it to use as an incident command center.
