Corrupt or Incompetent ?(sic) A Viewpoint
Corrupt or Incompetent ?(sic) These two words come to mind when thinking about how our city was run in the recent past .(sic)
I have lived in Paullina for over 41 years. I have witnessed a steady decline in services provided by the City of Paullina in the last 10-15 years . (sic) The city has had trouble properly maintaining our community. Over a period of time a toxic relationship formed between the city employees & its citizens . (sic) This weakens the core of an otherwise strong community . (sic) It doesn’t matter if its snow removal , (sic) cleaning the street gutters , (sic) repairing a hole on main street from March , (sic) city wide clean up , (sic) the list is long . (sic)
The work has not been getting done due to poor management , (sic) lack of proper work direction , (sic) & insubordinate employees. A new administrator & employees should help . (sic)
My hats (sic) off to the new mayor & our council to take actions that have been long overdue . (sic)
We do not nee to compensate employees for poor performance (sic) as we have done in the past . (sic)
We deserve a city staff that is dedicated to properly running our city . (sic)
I have already seen new & positive things happening like the crosswalk markings on Maple Street & in front of Dollar General . (sic) This & the flashing speed signs serve as a safety reminder on a busy & dangerous street . (sic) We need to embrace change & get it right this time. One sided opinions are not welcome , (sic) or productive in this situation.
