Wolverines start the season at the Cherokee’s cross country invite
The South O’Brien girls and boys cross country teams raced into the season August 25 at the Cherokee Golf Course. The event was the Deb Hankens Invitational Cross Country Meet.
The Wolverine girls placed fourth with a score of 79. Taja Conley turned in a seventh-place finish. Takara Conley placed 17th and Alodie Wilson was right behind her in 18th. Abby Stout finished 23rd and Laci Kenney 30th.
On the boys’ side, South O’Brien was a seventh-place finisher. Ben Woodall topped the Wolverine contingent, placing 18th. Brett Evans was 32nd, Ian Oliver 35th and Ethan Schwarz 36th. Rounding out the South O’Brien runners were freshman Dominic Rounds in 41st place and sophomores Caleb Buenger in 42nd and Bensen Rohwer in 43rd.
