Scholarships Awarded At NCC
Mariel Feekes, Archer, has been awarded the Sheldon Kiwanis Scholarship by the Northwest Iowa Community College Foundation. This $1,000 scholarship is supported by the Sheldon Noon Kiwanis and Prairie Queen Kiwanis. Feekes was selected due to her academic excellence and community service contributions. Mariel is an Accounting student at NCC.
The Premier Communications Scholarship has been established by Premier Communications to encourage students from their service communities to pursue post-secondary education at Northwest Iowa Community College. This is a $1,000 scholarship. Recipients this year are:
Jagger Anliker, Primghar, Associate of Arts program
Braden Ruba, Remsen, Industrial Instrumentation & Control program
Premier Communications is the leading provider of voice, video, and data services in northwest Iowa. With headquarters in Sioux Center and offices in Hospers, Rock Rapids, and Le Mars, Premier Communications provides 25 communities with local voice service, high-speed internet, and cable television programming.
The Ron Plum Endowed Scholarship has been established to encourage students to pursue post-secondary education and improve their employment skills. This is a $250 scholarship. This year’s recipient of the Ron Plum Endowed Scholarship is Jamie Shriver, Paullina. Jamie is a Nursing student at NCC. The scholarship is funded by Ron Plum who was a Business/Marketing Management instructor at NCC for 28 years and then served as NCC’s Foundation Director for several years.
The Sanford Sheldon Medical Center Scholarship was established to encourage individuals in the area to pursue health related careers. This scholarship is awarded twice a year by the Northwest Iowa Community College Foundation and is funded by the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center. This is a $1,250 scholarship. The recipients, chosen because of their academic achievement and potential for success in a health related field, are Kali Maassen, Boyden, and Jamie Shriver, Paullina, both Nursing students.
