Two big innings lift Harris-Lake Park past Wolverines
Harris-Lake Park scored five runs in the third inning and six in the fourth and held on to defeat South O’Brien 13-9 June 20 at Paullina. Before the uprising, the Wolverines held a 5-2 lead. They scored three times in the sixth inning but it wasn’t enough to prevent the War Eagle Conference loss.
There were four South O’Brien hits. Mitchell Enger went 1-for-2 at the plate with two walks, an RBI and 2 runs scored. Trevor Fiddelke and David Bottjen were each 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Fiddelke also reached base on an error. Brock Riedemann went 1-for-5 and scored a run.
Kester Grimm walked twice and reached on an error. He scored two runs and drove in a run. Pete Bottjen drew a walk and was twice hit by a pitch. He scored two runs. Dain Moermond drew two walks and scored a run. Ben Woodall picked up two RBI’s. Cole Tjossem was on base courtesy of an error.
Fiddelke drew mound duty and pitched three-plus innings, taking the loss. His line showed 10 runs (seven earned), six hits, six hit batters, two strikeouts and two walks. In four innings of relief Woodall allowed three earned runs on five hits. He struck out five batters, walked one and hit one. South O’Brien committed a total of five errors.
