On June 22 at Paullina the Wolverines took the 1-0 lead in the first inning on a solo home run from Payton Farquhar, but sadly that would be the lone highlight of the evening as the girls stumbled through a 16-1 loss to MMCRU. We were never mentally in this game. We made seven errors and that just doesn’t cut it at the varsity level against a solid opponent. We need to let things go and become mentally tougher. We can’t let one error turn into two or three in one inning.
Grace Fuhrman threw the first four innings and took the loss. She gave up five hits, seven runs (one earned), walked one and struck out three. On offense the Wolverines did not do much better as they only had 3 total hits. Farquhar had the home run and Abby Schreck and Annika Jenness each had a single.
