South O’Brien began the week with a 199-182 loss to Gehlen Catholic April 25 at Le Mars. With temps in the low 40s it wasn’t ideal golf weather, but we’ve played in worse already this season.
Senior Captain Brecken Coady led the way for us tonight, finishing 2nd with a 43. Brecken is very consistent and works hard on his short game. It showed tonight while he shot his season-low score.
Freshman Derek Paulsen continues to play well and finished 4th with a 46. Derek’s playing with a lot of confidence and doing a great job of keeping a level head while playing. He never gets too down after a bad shot or too high when he’s playing well.
Rounding out the scores were Kaedon Louscher with a 52, Traven Bahrenfuss with a 58, Carter Halverson with a 61 and David Bottjen with a 62.
We still have some work to do but while our scores aren’t necessarily showing it, we are getting a little better.
