Limited numbers equal loss for Wolverine golf girls at Hinton
It was a fantastic night for golf on Monday, April 11, when the South O’Brien Wolverines traveled to Hinton to match up with the Blackhawks. Hinton won the dual by forfeit as the Wolverines did not field a full team due to illness. The Blackhawks carded a 216. Medalist was South O’Brien’s junior Whitney Einck, carding her best round of the season with a 47. Coach Kris Faust said, “Einck is starting to show what she can do in her third season.” Runner up went to Hinton’s Hailey Rosenbaum with a 48. Junior Sam Wilbur from South O’Brien took 3rd with a 51, and Addison Kovarna from Hinton took 4th with a 54. Rounding out the Wolverine cards was Jinger Nieuwenhuis with a 65. Faust said, “Mother Nature gave us a perfect night for golf.” She added, “It was good for the girls to play another course after two home meets. It was a great test to see how they play in unfamiliar territory.” The Wolverines will continue to work on playing with some consistency.
