PCP BOARD – Primghar Community Playhouse Board of Directors will meet Monday, April 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the Care Center basement.
GIRL SCOUT BRUNCH – The Girl Scout Mother/Daughter Brunch will be held Saturday, April 25 at 10:00 a.m. in the Community Building. This will be the year end awards.
Child abuse shouldn’t be ignored – It’s hard to think about, harder still to do something about, but Ignoring it doesn’t make it go away. Child abuse and neglect endanger the children of this country, including O’Brien County, and the numbers of reported incidents grow each year.
Easter guests – Everand and Gladys McDowell and Elmer Steuck were dinner guests in the Bradley McDowell home. Steve Smith, Jerl GoldenSmith and Justin enjoyed dinner with Marge Golden and friends at Stub’s Ranch Kitchen in Spencer. Russ and Dalene Walker and boys of Lincoln spent the weekend in the parental Elmer Otte home. Dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Klink were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nicholson of Urbandale. Betty Nicholson, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Wulf of Holstein, Ethel Rohwer, Mr. and Mrs. Derrel Durst and Randy Durst of Paullina, and Ruth Borland. Afternoon callers were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Reimann, John and Chris, and Leo Reimann. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bruns were dinner guests of Gertie Harms of Hartley. Also guests were the Dale Bruns family of Galva.

“Vial of Life” project 50% complete – The “Vial of Life” distribution being made by the GF Primghar Woman’s Club is now about 50% complete and the women who are dispensing the vials to the homes in Primghar will continue their work until everyone is reached who can be contacted. The “Vial of Life” is a program to help emergency medical teams and doctors to determine the correct procedures to follow in case the patient is unable to supply vital medical information. It has proven to be most successful in a number of areas where the program has been adopted and Primghar can benefit from this program if all residents will use it. The Baum-Harmon Hospital and the Marian Health Care Volunteer Services Office in Sioux City are to be commended for their part in furnishing the vials and kits for the community.
AG-ENGINEERING HONORARY INITIATES – Joey Meyer of Primghar was among the 15 students and one faculty member initiated recently into Alpha Epsilon, agricultural engineering honorary at I.S.U. Joey is the son of Mr, and Mrs. Art Meyer.
To demonstrate tillage equipment – The O’Brien County Extension Service and McGillick Inc. of Sheldon are planning a no till planter demonstration Saturday, May 1. at the Stan Wilkens farm four miles north and one mile west of Archer. The purpose of the demonstration is to show farmers and ag. related businesses how to plant no till. The field will be sprayed with liquid nitrogen and herbicide after planting. PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION – Grace Lutheran Preschool will hold registration for the fall session Wednesday, May 5 between 9:30-11:30 at the Grace Lutheran Church. Children must be four years; old before Sept. 15, 1982.

Bob Anderson on TV “Talk Show” Bob Anderson, a PHS senior, wall participate in the television program, “Youth In,” on KCAU •TV, Channel 9, Sioux City, la., at 11 o’clock Sunday morning, April 30. The program will be taped on April 29 with members of schools in this vicinity taking part. Bob is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Anderson.
