Tentative combined school director districts set – The Paullina and Primghar School Boards meeting, separately Monday accepted a newly proposed map of six combined school director districts. The seventh director,, would be chosen by voters at large. The Sutherland School Board is expected to approve the arrangement at its regular meeting scheduled for next Monday. The new arrangement is slightly different that one presented to the boards last month. The details of the new map were agreed to in an informal meeting of members of the three boards. Under the proposal only two of Paullina’s current board members could be elected to district seats in the combined school board. Another current board member could be elected to the at large seat.

CRIME DUSTERS “CRIME OF THE WEEK” – The O’Brien County Sheriffs Department is investigating a burglary that occurred during the evening hours of March 15th or the early morning hours of March 16th, 1992. The burglary took place at the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina when entry was gained to the church and an undetermined amount of cash was removed. A reward of $200.00 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest for this crime. If you have information on (his crime or any other crime please contact “Crime Dusters” at 757-3415. You need not give your name to be eligible for the reward.

Firemen Elect Officers for ‘82-83 The Paullina Volunteer Fire Department held their annual election of officers on Monday evening Tom Tesch was voted in as president of the organization and Larry Feldotto was elected vice president Elected as secretary treasurer of the department was Mario Ebel.
April 20 is Final Date to Apply for Lifeguard – Tuesday April 20 has been set as the final date to accept written applications for the position of lifeguard at the Paullina lake this summer All applications are to be sent to Lion Club member Bill Skinner and as of Tuesday afternoon Mr Skinner noted that he has received some applications which are totally acceptable as a lifeguard but wanted everyone who wished to apply to have sufficient time to do so.

Two Piano Recital, April 23, To Feature Laurie Ewoldt, Friend – The Paullina Federated Music Cluh and the Paullina Community School will present a recital featurirrg duo pianists Rozanne Ellvood, Radcliffe, Iowa, and Laurie Swoldt, Paullina, Iowa, in the vo- cal music room of the Paullina Community School. The recital will be given Sunday, April 23, at 2:30 p.m. Both pianists will graduate from Drake University Des Moines, Iowa, this spring with Bachelor of Music Education degrees. The public is invited to attend.

Co. Firemen Meeting To Be Held in Paullina Thursday, April 20 – The county meeting of Volunteer Firemen will be held in Paullina, Thursday, April 20. The meeting will be held in the Paullina Community building, beginning at 8:00 p.m. Orlyn Strampe, county president, and Donald Richter, county secretary, both from Germantown, have completed their two-year terms and a new president and secretary will be elected.
